Winter Glam Makeup Look

Hey everybody! I hope you're all doing well. I know it hasn't been a full week since my last post, but I don't have class on Fridays, so I had some time on my hands yesterday!

Today, I'm going to be showing you the products I used to create the makeup look above, and talk you through how I used everything. Almost all of the items I used are from the drugstore, so if you feel like recreating the look, you might already have some of the makeup in your collection.





The first thing I always do is prime my face and eyes.

I used the L'Oreal Youthcode Texture Perfector Pore Vanisher all over my face, starting in my T-zone and blending outwards with my fingertips. Then I applied some of the e.l.f. Eyelid Primer to my lids. It was my first time using this e.l.f. primer, but so far I really like it.

After that, I moved onto foundation and concealer.

I applied the Revlon Colorstay Whipped Creme Foundation in 110 Ivory to my face and neck with my Real Techniques Multi Task brush. Then, I dabbed some of the MAC Prolongwear Concealer in NC15 under my eyes in an upside down triangle shape to cover up my dark circles. You want to be careful not to swipe or rub the concealer when blending it in because that will remove some of the product and also make it more likely to crease under your eyes.

Next, I set my concealer and started on my eye shadow.

I used the MAC Pro Shaping Powder in Emphasize, which is in the big circular pan on the right at the bottom, to set my under eye concealer. This is great for under the eyes because it really brightens up  the face. I used the light brown shade (Latte from Makeup Geek) from the palette on the right in the crease of my eye as a transition shade. Then, I used the pale, shimmery shade (called Nude) from the Lorac Pro Palette on the left all over my lid. The last thing I did was apply the darker brown shade (Mocha from Makeup Geek) from the palette on the right in my crease again to add some definition.

Then, I set the rest of my face with powder.

I used the Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless pressed powder on any areas of my face that needed more coverage, like if any blemishes or redness were coming through. Then I used the NYX cosmetics HD Studio Photogenic Finishing Powder, which is a loose, translucent powder to set my T-zone with a big fluffy brush, so that I wouldn't get oily throughout the day.

When I finished with that, I moved onto contour, blush, and highlight.

The little duo palette in the top right corner is from NARS, and it has a blush on one side, but I only used the brown contour shade (in Laguna) on the right. I brushed that color under my cheekbones, around my forehead, and under my chin to sculpt out the contours of my face. Then, I applied the Milani Cosmetics Blush in 08 Tea Rose to the apples of my cheeks. I finished my face makeup with the Hard Candy Tiki highlighlighter on the top of my cheekbones for a little illumination.

Next, I went back to finish the rest of my eye makeup.

I put the Rimmel London ScandalEyes Water-proof Black Kohl Liner in my water line and tightline. Then, I used the Jordana Cosmetics FabuLiner Liquid Eye Liner on my upper lash line, just to make my lashes look a little bit fuller; I opted not to wing it out. After that, I curled my lashes, and added some of the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara to my upper and lower lashes. Finally, I moved onto brows. I filled them in with the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Ebony, and then I set them with the L'Oreal Brow Stylist Plumper in Medium to Dark to keep all of my brow hairs in place.

Almost finished! Onto the lips.

I used three different products to create my dark, vampy lip color. I lined my lips with the Makeup Academy Anti-Feathering Lip Liner in #403 Berry. Then, I went over that with the Milani Cosmetics Color Statement Lipstick in Sangria. Lastly, I topped that with the L'Oreal Extraordinaire by Colour Riche lip gloss in 502 Plum Adagio.

The very last step, which is optional, but necessary for the oily-skinned girls out there like me, is to use a setting spray.

I've just started using the L'Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Makeup Extender Setting Spray, but so far, I'm really enjoying it. You just spray it a few times all over your face to extend the longevity of your makeup.

When you're done, you should end up with something similar to this.

 

This was my first tutorial-style blog post, so I'm sorry if I was a little bit all over the place in my instructions, but I hope you found some of them useful! You don't, by any means, have to use the exact same products I used to recreate this look. There is a lot of great makeup out there, so just use what you like, and what you know works best for you. I just wanted to show you what I like to use for my personal skin tone and skin type. This also isn't exactly an every day makeup look, but I love it for night time, and I'm trying to get as much use as I can out of my dark lippies before Winter is over.
