Treating Your Under Eyes Right

Hello! I have to start off this post by apologizing for how long it has been since I last wrote anything for you all. It's been almost three weeks, and I really am so sorry! The minute I got home from school for the summer, I started a new job, and today is actually my first day off, so I had some time to write this review. You can go ahead and scroll to the bottom of this post if you want to see an amazing video of the store I work at.

Today, I'm going to talking about a few under eye-related products that I have been loving and that leave my under eyes crease-free every time.

I am going to go through these three products in the order that I use them on a day-to-day basis, and the first one is the Kiehl's Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado.

I have been using this eye cream for a few weeks now, and I noticed results almost immediately. Before this, I was using the Origins GinZing eye cream, which was really nice, but this one is a game-changer. I have pretty dry under eyes that used to crease no matter what concealer I used. This eye cream from Kiehl's is thick, and it's going to feel very weird if you try to apply it directly from the jar to your under eyes and then rub it in. The recommended method of applying this product is to pick a little bit up on the tip of your ring finger and then rub it between your two ring fingers for a few seconds. This breaks up the product and allows it to blend smoothly underneath your eyes. Make sure to dab the product in tapping motions rather than smearing or rubbing it in because of how delicate the under-eye skin is. This eye cream ensures that my under eyes stay moisturized all day and really prevents whatever concealer I put on top from sinking into the fine lines there.

I have written a blog post previously about My Five Favorite Concealers, so I won't talk about those here. With the other products that I've been using under my eyes, I find that it doesn't really matter what concealer I use because none of them crease on me anymore.

The other products that have been preventing my concealer from creasing are the e.l.f. Studio High Definition Powder and the Real Techniques Setting Brush.

I use the two of these products to set my under eyes after I have applied concealer. The great thing about the e.l.f. powder is that it is only $6, and I find it comparable to loose translucent powders from the department store that are five times the cost. It is also pretty finely-milled, so it won't look cakey on the skin, and it doesn't have that white cast that shows up in photographs with powders like this sometimes.

This powder does come with a puff, but I find that a brush works much better with it. The container also comes with a little sifter, which is great because I usually just tap a little bit of product into the lid and go from there.

After I have applied my concealer and poured some of the e.l.f. powder into the lid, I will dip my Real Techniques brush into the powder and tap off the excess. Before I apply the brush to my face, I make sure to look upwards and tap out the concealer with my ring finger one more time. Still looking upwards, I then begin to dab the powder underneath my eyes with my setting brush. Looking upwards and powdering immediately after blending out your concealer will ensure that the concealer does not have time to crease or sink into any fine lines beneath your eyes.

And that's it! My under eyes will look fresh and bright all day long without creasing. This combination has been a real life saver, and I don't see myself changing up my little routine any time soon.

I will definitely have more blog posts for you soon; I'm just waiting for a few products to come in the mail so I can start reviewing and comparing them all. I hope you guys enjoyed reading this, and again, I'm so sorry it took me so long to write this.
